A confidential reporting hotline is part of the “bedrock” of an effective compliance program, Benjamin Haley of Covington & Burling told the Anti-Corruption Report. An effective hotline program can give a company the opportunity to proactively handle issues before they become endemic and can play a role in maintaining a culture of compliance. And, hotlines can encourage internal reporting, allowing the company to investigate conduct before the government does.
